An open letter to party leadership in support of fairness and unity in our Democratic primary process
May 15, 2026
SUBJECT:
Fostering Fairness and Unity in Our Primary Process
Dear Chairman Buckley,
The New Hampshire Latino Democratic Caucus is deeply committed to our shared goal of building a strong, unified party grounded in inclusion and integrity. As we move through this election cycle, we are writing to share some constructive feedback and offer a partnership in upholding the democratic principles that define us.
Our members and allies have recently noted instances where specific candidates in contested races were highlighted during party events. While we know these moments often stem from a place of enthusiasm, they can inadvertently create the impression of an uneven playing field. To ensure every member feels empowered to make an independent decision, we believe it is vital to maintain a neutral environment in all shared party spaces.
Protecting this sense of fairness is about more than just optics; it is about maintaining the high level of trust and engagement our party enjoys. When our platforms remain impartial, it signals to all voters that their voice and their process are being respected.
We see this as a positive opportunity for a cultural reset. By being more mindful of how we use our collective platforms, we can model the transparent, democratic process we all value. To that end, we kindly ask party leadership and guest speakers to join us in practicing neutrality regarding candidates in contested primaries.
Maintaining this standard is essential to ensuring that our party remains a welcoming space for deliberation. We look forward to working alongside you to ensure our process reflects the full will of our members and leads us toward a successful, unified front.
Sincerely,
The NH Latino Democratic Caucus

Important Announcement Regarding Recent Dangerous Rhetoric
March 14, 2026
As the NH Latino Democratic Caucus, we feel compelled to address a troubling moment in our public discourse. In recent days, the NH Free Staters, have directed death threats towards three public servants: Andru Volinsky, Christian Urrutia, and Jessica Grill. Let us be unequivocal: threats of any kind are unacceptable in any form, from any source, against anyone. We are committed to calling out this type of behavior, and we urge that leaders, regardless of party, do the same.
Healthy debate is our right provided by the Constitution and is essential for a functioning democracy. We welcome the exchange of ideas, but it should not come at the threat of anyone’s life, liberty, or pursuit of happiness. When these moments are ignored and silence becomes the norm, we create space for extremism to grow.
If we fail to stand up for one another in moments like this, then we have already ceded ground to those who thrive on division. All communities deserve the space to share our diverse perspectives with safety and respect as a standard.
